HAPPY ENCOUNTER

It means a great satisfaction for us the fact that a Film Festival like ZINEBI, with a long-winded and prestigious historic career within the specific field of documentaries and short films, gives us the chance of taking part in its programme of activities and screenings.
As Head Teacher of the Institute Ategorri-Tartanga in Erandio, I am deeply aware of the importance for these girls and boys studying Realización de Audiovisuales y Espectáculos (RAE)- Production of Audio-Visual and Shows- that the audience from Bilbao may assist to the screenings of their works. In a way, this was the missing link in the chain: try to find out if the short films shot by students along their academic year meet the minimum requirements to interest the keen cinemagoers.

To put it in other words, to consider if these short films offer appealing aspects within the frame of the public secondary education beyond their significance in view of the exam itself. The organisation from ZINEBI offers with great generosity the chance that some of them, hopefully filmmakers-to-be, have for the first time the possibility of enjoying how their films are welcomed by the interested spectators.
While all the RAE students have received the celebration of this collective show with great joy and excitement, the teaching staff from our Institute would like to express their deep and sincere gratitude hoping that this happy encounter means the beginning of a very long friendship, as I think it was said at the end of “Casablanca”.
