In 1960 Jean-Luc Godard directed "A
bout de souffle", a film dealing with the founding
manifesto of the nouvelle vague. It represented a radical
break with traditional film. Godard's films announced
and accompanied the aesthetic and political upheaval
that would take place in the French May of 1968, as
well as the cultural, political, and social consequences.
The series comprises fifteen films made between 1968
and 1975, some of them with the Dziga Vertov Group.
This was a period strongly marked by the ferment of
May 1968. The films include "La Chinoise",
"Tout va bien", "One Plus One",
his film on the Rolling Stones, and "Un film comme
les autres".
Actress,
singer, composer, and filmmaker, she has been an ineludible
presence in European cinema since the sixties, particularly
in the films of Jacques Rivette, Rainer W. Fassbinder,
André Delvaux, and above all her husband, Jean
Luc-Godard.
In 1973 she directed the outstanding film "Vivre
ensemble", which ZINEBI will show along with a
documentary about the filmmaker , "Une histoire
de K.", by Nicolas Ruffault. During the closing
ceremony she will receive an honorary Mikeldi in recognition
of her artistic career.
